| Judges

There will be two judges:

Judge Piping
John or Jacob Millin or a representative of the B.O.W.U International association.

| Set requirements

Upon arrival on stage, the Piper has 10 minutes to play his set. He may take a few minutes to adjust his instrument on his own.

His instrument must be fully functional. No plugs in the drones.

A sequence of 2 pieces must be played, in the order the Piper wishes. Pieces must correspond to :

A 4-part 2/4 march
Slow air of 2 parts minimum (composed of 8 bars)

The Piper can remain static or perform a march on stage.

If the Piper exceeds his 10 minutes on stage (instrument adjustment + playing time), he will be eliminated from the competition.

| Registration

The Bill Millin Trophy is open until Mai 15, 2024.

For the competition to take place, a minimum of 3 pipers must be registered.

Places are limited to 12 pipers.

Participation is free for members of B.O.W.U International.

Non-members are required to pay 10 euros.

Payment is made at the time of registration and is non-refundable.

| Results

The performance will be judged from the start of the first note of the piece played until the bagpipes come to a complete stop.

Each judge fills in a score sheet, then assigns a personal grade (ranking) after hearing all the Pipers. The final mark is the sum of the two marks: the Piping judge's mark and John or Jacob Millin's mark.

In the event of a tie, the ranking will be made by preference of the piping score.

Judges' critique sheets will be distributed after the awards ceremony to the BOWU International Board of Directors.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place at around 9.30pm, between the two concerts.

| Prizes

A trophy bearing the 80th D-Day logo will be awarded to the sole winner.

The winner will be posted on the B.O.W.U International websites (French and English). This page is perpetual.

The winner's name will be inscribed on a coat of arms, and each year, the names of the next title holders will be added.

Prizes from B.O.W.U International and its partners will also be awarded.
